Hello Don. Sorry to take so long to answer back, I was on vacation last week and it was great!
I now find that I had the last name spelled BRIT, not Birt, and Susannah's parents were Silas and Rebecca Davis Alkire. I have no other info on her and would tend to agree that she must have died or would have been in the census with him. I would appreciate any/all info you can supply me with as I will forward so that it gets posted to our www.Alkire.org site.
