The history of the Prince Edward Island Birt family in the New World begins with the immigrants John and Sally(Mills) Birt. The couple, along with their six children: Jonathan, Anne, Eleanor, David, Sarah and William, sailed from Yarmouth, England on the "Minerva". They arrived in Prince Edward Islandon June 14, 1831. The family emigrated from the tiny village of Benhall, Suffolk, England. The website for this family and their descendants can be found at http://members.tripod.com/~Birt_Family/index.html I look forward to meeting more cousins and researchers of the Birt family. Mike
