Stephen BIRLEW b. 1841 Smith Co., TN.; m. Nancy Jane TAYLOR b. 1853 Dekalb Co., TN. They lived in Winona, Shannon Co., MO.

Their children were:
1. John Wilson b. 1874 MO.; m. Lillie/Lulu CHATHAM.
2. Milbra Catherine "Cassie" b. 1875 MO.; m. John M. BULLICK.
3. George Lewis b. 1876 MO.; m. Bertha THAYER.
4. William Levi b. 1879 MO.; m. Emma Lee MAYBERRY.
5. Lucinda b. 1882 MO.; m. John J. DUNN.
6. Nancy Jane b. 1884 MO.; m. William J. DUNN.
7. Jackson b. 1886 MOl; died young.
8. Stephen Leander "Lee" b. 1888 MO.; m. Edith GARRETT.
9. Mary Elizabeth b. 1891 MO.; m. Edward James PATTERSON.
10. Annie May b. 1893 MO.; died young.
11. Robert "Monroe" b. 1896 MO.; m. Julia Anne SHEETS.
