Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

He was my great-uncle, known to the family as "Uncle Tot". He had two elder brothers: Percy, who emigrated to South Africa, and my grandfather, Harry, who was a chemist and optician in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. I met Uncle Tot and Auntie Ethel a couple of times when I was a kid when they came over to England to visit in the 1950s.
