The Autumn/Winter 2007 issue of ANTIQUES AND FINE ART magazine on p. 113 pictures a needlework sampler in an advertisement by Mary Ann Post, age 14, wrought in 1827 in Chatham, Connecticut. The sampler lists her family history, including her father, Diodate Post, b. 31 August 1786, d. 11 April 1860, her mother, Pamela (Birge) Post, b. 3 September 1792, d. 3 July 1860,who were married 29 May 1810. Their three children listed are: William A. Post, b. 17 July 1811, d. 13 June 1856; Mary A. Post, b. 17 August 1813; Ichabod Post, b. 29 August 1815. This fine sampler should be made known to the Post & Birge families. I am scanning it in case any of the descendants might like a copy, either by email or by postal mail. Someone in the families ought to have it--it is too good to be missed by the families. It has both extensive genealogy value as well as a whole lot of historic & artistic value. My email address can be found by clicking on my underlined name above. Please respond by emailing me directly and not by posting a reply on this genforum site, which I might not see. If it were a sampler by a young Pease family member, I'd certainly want someone to do the same for me. Bill Pease, Lancaster, PA Notify Administrator about this message?
