We really do need to get acquainted and share family stuff.
Lola Muckelroy was my aunt, my mother's sister.
Floy Tenison was born in Newton County, Ark. Her family moved to TX around 1900. From what I've heard, they worked cutting ties for a railroad until it reached Cushing. There they bought land and had a nice farm. Their farm was in the Big Rock Community and near the Birdwell farm. Family stories also say that James Thomas Birdwell named the church there "Big Rock' for a large rock on the church grounds, thus the community name.
Don't know about the Carnes or Fountains. Garrison is in the area of Nacogdoches/Rusk Counties so Talitha was probably in our Birdwell family.
