Howdy,
The person you are inquiring about was my grandfather. Here's the best I can tell you regarding the details you requested. James S. Birdsong Sr. was a dentist as you already know. I was told he divorced Angie at some point. Additionally, I was told that after the divorce, Angie had married or was involved with another man who she caught in bed with another woman and she killed him. Dr. Birdsong had several children with Angie and he dropped them off at an orphanage in Biloxi so he could make his rounds with the stipulation they were not to be adopted out. Some of them were adopted out (Joe York and another brother I don't know the name of). Bruce Birdsong was not adopted out. Dr. Birdsong married Lessie McMillan. My mother told me Lessie was a nanny to Dr. Birdsong's children; but, I'm not clear if that was when he was still married to Angie or not. Dr. Birdsong had one child (James S. Birdsong Jr. (my dad)) with Lessie. My father married Doris Milton and had two kids (my sister and I - James S. Birdsong III). Both Lessie and Dr. Birdsong are deceased. He died in the early '60s and she died in the early '80s. Both of my parents are now deceased as well so I have no way to get any more detail than I have provided. One thing my mother did tell me is that the man Angie shot was either the Governor of Mississippi or an ex-Governor (not sure if there is any truth to that). Bruce Birdsong married Louise (don't know her maiden name) and had two children, Bruce and Linda. Bruce Sr. is deceased. To my knowledge Joe York and his wife (Bert) never had any children. I'm fairly sure Joe and Bert have both passed on. I don't know anything thing about the other children.
