I am seeking information on James S. Birdsong and his wife, Angie or Angeline. He was a Dentist in Lawrence county, Mississippi after the turn of the last century. Mrs. Birdsong shot and killed Dr. Thomas H. Butler, and she received a five year sentence,which was appealed. It went to the Supreme Court (State?) and she received a pardon from Governor Vardaman.
I am interested in knowing what became of this family after her pardon. I am a member of the Historical Society in Lawrence County, Mississippi and would like to get the full story for our records.
