I am also descended from John Birdsong and Elizabeth Latimer. However, according to the Genealogical and Historical Register of Troup Country, Georgia, John Birdsong who was married to Mary "Polly" Strong was John Birdsong, IV. Troup County identifies his parents as John Birdsong, III, b. ca. 1750 in NC, and wife Elizabeth. They identify John Birdsong, III's parents as John Birdsong, Jr. and wife Mary. And, parents of John Birdsong, Jr. as John Birdsong, Sr., b. ca. 1711 and wife Demaris Hancock, mentioned in the posting from William Birdsong in June of 1998. Can you help solve this mystery?
