I am also a descendent and John Birdsong, IV and Mary "Polly" Strong, b. 1790. According to my documentation the parents of John Birdsong, IV were John Birdsong, III and his wife Elizabeth (same as your record). My records, however, show John Birdsong, III's parents were John Birdsong, Jr. b. 1775 Va., and wife Mary. John Birdsong, Jr.'s parents were John Birdsong, Sr. and Demaris Hancock of Sussex Co, Va. There is another posting in the Forum that tracks the line the way you have it. The Subject line is Birdsong from VA to GA and it was posted by Bernice Davis Spier. The Troup County Historical Society has quite a lot of information on John Birdsong, Jr., John Birdsong, Sr., and Demaris Hancock. What do you think?
