I will also send you an email requesting information on the two books referenced in your posting.
My great grandfather's name was John Ervin Birdsong, born abt 1869 in AL, married Elza Jennie Goats (1862) and Susan E, Goats (1864). I believe his lineage was John Birdsong (1683), John (1701), John Major (1733)/Mary Armstead, Henry (1769)/Sally Roundtree, John (1792)/Amanda Lightfoot, Henry (1818)/Elizabeth, John (1848), John Ervin (1869), Nellie L. Birdsong Jarrett (1898), P. Jarrett (1926), Gary Jarrett (1944) and Eric Jarrett (1975). I would appreciate any Birdsong geneology information you may have and will share mine.
