Some researchers belive the Birdsong name is of German origan. The German "Voglesang" translates to Birdsong. There is a Voglesang Family Coat of Arms that dates back to about 1490. Some Voglesang researchers claim the name was translated by immigrants from Germany while living in England and Scotland to the English name "Birdsong."
