Did William Birdsong serve in two wars? The pension file that I received, indicates that his service was in the war of 1812, not the Civil War. The claim number was 36.195 filed on 5 May 1879, by Winaford, the service was in Cpt Littleton Leneer's Co. Enlisted at Sussex Co Va, Apr 1812 for a term of 6 montsh service terminated at Portsmouth Va Nov 1812. Aud report Aug 16, 1857 says he served from May 27 1814 to Nov 30 1814. Capt Wm Parson's Co Va. Mil.
