I am one of a group working on an official history of the Wisconsin 23rd Regiment . One of our men is William Bird He was the son of Rev. William Bird (b. c. 1808 in England; d. 1874) & Elizabeth ?. William, Jr. enlisted (1 in the 1st WI Inf. & (2) in the 23rd WI Inf. 6 Aug 1862 at Madison, Dane Co. WI.

WE have a reference to a marriage to May L. (no other info) We have the data for his marriage 21 Dec 1892 to Anna E. Meigs & quite complete data for the rest of his bio.

We are interested in burial for Rev. William And Elizabeth ?. In Elizabeth's maiden name, and her birth, death burial. We especially would like confirmation one way or the other for the marriage ? to May L. If he did marry her, then we need date of marriage her vital statistics & maiden name, the names & data for her parents & her siblings.

If you can help us fill in any of our blanks we would be grateful. In your posting you mentioned several Census records. What place were they taken at?
