Have you found any connections with the Byrds from TN, TX & AR? I have a Thomas Byrd abt 1876,that is "supposed" to have come from TN. He married Ella Nora Bridges abt 1878 TN(shown as Smith and grandchildren of Robert abt 1825 GA and Nancy Jane Norman Smith abt 1821 GA in most census that I've found). Their mother Elizabeth Smith Bridges abt 1849 GA is listed as a widow in the 1880 TN census, she left her children with her parents because her new fiance' didn't want them. The fiance' was an Atwell or Otwell.... They had one child together and all I've been able to find is his name was Clay.
I am trying to find Thomas E. Byrd (also listed as Bird).
My mother says it is NOT Bird, its Byrd. OK, I've got that, but, on the 1900 Robertson County census, my Thomas is listed as Bird, all other relatives spell this name as Byrd. I cannot find him in any other (earlier) census. Thomas died abt 1901 in a hunting accident in Arkansas and lore says he was brought back to Texas for burial..... I can't find out where though.
If you or anyone reading this can help out, I'd appreciate it.
