Yes, I am a member of Jacob's ladder. We would be very interested in the DNA project. They are doing it on several of our other lines and it is leading to some interesting results.
Because there is so much conflicting information about the Bird line,i.e. is it English, Irish, Dutch, German or even CherokeeI think it could be very valuable. Our Birds go back to Pennsylvania in the early 1700's where there is speculation that there were several different Bird families in the area at that time that were not related.Because the record is so sketchy,I am not convinced that one can make any of these assumptions.A DNA test could at least tell us how many different lines there reallyare and which direction to go.
How do we get started?
