It appears that this could be one of four brothers: Wiley m. Edith Newbern; William m. Faitha _____; Joel m. Edith Newbern's sister, Mary in 1809; and Jonas m. Rebecca Turner in 1822.The brothers had four sisters - "Viney", Ann, Penny and a sister whose name is unknown.
Wiley was my great-great grandfather.I have no further certainty who their forebears were other than their mother's name was Mary;
however, if anyone has any information regarding this, please let me know.
The first known documentation of William, Wiley, Joel, Jonas, et-al, appears in recorded land plats in Screven, Bulloch & Emanuel Counties dated 1794, 1799, 1801, 1805, etc.
William Bird was born about 1775 and died in Emanuel Co. in 1831.His will is recorded in Emanuel Co. will book 1815-1865 page 21.William married a Faitha (last name unknown).They had nine children.These include Augustus Parker Bird m. Hester Lanier in 1828, Israel Bird m. first to Mary Willis & 2nd to _____ Tatsey, William F. Bird, and six daughters whose names are unknown according to this material.
Hope this helps. I feel sure this is the William Bird you are seeking.
