Jack, in an Estray Book of Harrison Co., IN,1815-1818, are listed various Birds-- Samuel Baird (a "dirty white sow" to John Coopenoter(?) and Richard French), David Bird (hogs to Stephen Smith), Samuel and Thomas Beard to John Cophenover, and this:
"Taken up by Capt. Benjamin Byard in Harrison Co., on the waters of Blue River near the Governess(?) Mill, a bay mare with a star in her forehead,
There may be more in this Estray Book, as I haven't gone all the way through it, yet.
Do you see anything here?I'm looking at the Benjamin Burd that was in the Henry Co., VA, PP Tax List of 1782 (along with Abraham Byrd and Samuel Beard).Do you have a feel for who this Benjamin Byrd belonged to?
