Thanks for your reply.One thing DOES help...and that is, that Abner Bird Jr.'s children by Jane Jamison did NOT stay in Franklin County, VA.That means that any Birds that pop up in the 1820 Franklin County VA census are not Abner's.That is an important clue.
About the Birds:The first Birds in the area started appearing about 1763 in Spottsylvania Co. and Pittsylvania Co, VA.Some researchers believe these particular Birds may have come from Richmond Co., VA, settling in Henry and Franklin Counties, VA by about 1786, although some of them went to TN and perhaps KY at an early date.A second group of Birds arrived from Bedford County VA to Franklin Co., VA about 1800.I'm still not sure how all these Birds are related.I'm most knowledgeable about the Birds that went to Harrison County, IN about 1817.I'm still looking for a connection to KY and NC Birds.
