Hi Doug: Good to hear from you.The bird line I
studied in Michigan is not related as far as I know
to the English line. They originated with Andrew Bird o
of Long Island about 1650.This family moved to New Jersey
and them some moved to New York state and then to
Michigan.Others moved direct from New Jersey to
Michigan..Thefirst to arrive was Thomas Steward Bird
and his wife Sarah Swayze who settled in Groveland township,
Oakland county. They came from Elba, Genesee county,
New York.
At the time I researched this family line, I was producing a
part of a book that will be published by the Lapeer
Gen. Soc. on early settlers.I live in the country and was buying
census pages.I bought a lot of pages of Birds from
England. I wish I had saved them as they would be of help- to you
in your study.Good luck
Ed
