Alexander Binnie / Grace Anderson m1854
Hi folks,
Here was me thinking that Binnie was an uncommon surname... :-) I'm trying to trace my ancestors and have had some success so far, but I'm looking for some further information.
My great grandfather was John Binnie, married on 5th February 1920. He was a tram car conductor and married Sarah Nobbs, a thread millworker.
My great great grandfather was a John Anderson Binnie. He was a drapery warehouse worker who married Margaret Vessie (Vesie/Vasie) in April 1891 in Motherwell. He was a drapery warehouse packer and she was a domestic servant.
His father was Alexander Binnie, a spirit merchant who married Grace Anderson. According to the IGI search they were married in Falkirk in October 1854, but the date is questionable as there are two separate entries, one in Falkirk and one in Dunipace. According to his son's marriage certificate he was deceased at the time of their marriage.
If anyone has any further info on this line I'd be grateful. Likewise, if I can help anyone else, please get in touch.
Thanks in advance.
