Thanks, Sue! Typo in my original posting - it should be Binkley. Clermont Co., OH, Marriage Record transcript : William Derry (23) & Elizabeth Binkley (21) April 3, 1849. (haven't seen original entry)
After working with a Derrough and a Binkley researchers, we feel confident the groom was William Derrough, not Derry. (1) Wm. & Elizabeth Derrough 1850 census, Goshen Twp., Clermont Co. w/dau., Eliza A. 3/12. (not found in any other census) At this time there were Derroughs living in Clermont Co. but, the Derrough researcher has not been able to connect Wm. to her line. (2) 1878 Obit for Susannah Binkley, 2nd wife of Jacob Binkley, lists a dau. Mrs. Elizabeth Derrough. (3) Wm. Derrough, re:marriage record, was 23 = b abt.1826. The only adult married male Derry in the area in 1826 was John Derry who had a son named Wm. b abt. 1817. [Wm.Derry married Mary Murphy in 1838, Brown Co., OH]
-DNA proven: Derry line in Brown Co. was not related to the Derrys in Loudon Co., VA.
