Sue,
Do you know what Adm. Thomas D. Binkley the
Asst. Secretary of State served in? I found
a Thomas Binckley on the 1930 census in the
D.O.Columbia, he was an Attorney. If this Thomas was Christians GGson and he lived in Washington
D.C., his service must have been in a Pres.
Adm & been a Presidenial Appointment. Do you know the years he was Asst. Sec. of State & which President he served under?? He must have been
a brilliant man!
Have you found evidence that proves our Ancestress was Elizabeth Reid?I have found
quite abit that shows a Christian Binckley
who lived in the same areas and the same timeframe as ours was married to a Barbara Graff
and the name `Graff, is also spelled Groff, Croft and Grove. There were Graffs on the same boat Christians Father came to the US on and there were Groves in Perry County. I have also read that Christian was a widower, when he came to Perry County. (I don't recall where I read that account and it may be incorrect). I had assumed Elizabeth Reid was his second wife. I am a descendent of Capt. Christian Binckley, through his daughter Sarah Christina who married Henry Theobald Musser,
Christian Binkley did have some connection to the Mussers, long before his daughter Sara Christina married. Capt. Christian Binkley served in the Revolution with a Nicholas Musser, who may have been related to Henry Theobald Musser.
Sarah Christina was a baby during the Revolution. I have many questions about these 2
families, who I have researched for several
years.
Did your family stay in Perry County??
My line is Sarah Christina and H. Theobald Musser
>had Son Daniel Musser M Mary MCClellan they had son Samuel Musser Married Anna Sarah Rush they had daughter Mary Catharine Musser whoM James Sinift they had Herbert Sinift my Dad who was born in Perry County and moved away around 1930, he was about 12.
