I'm researching the Binkley line of my family and am trying to get a line on my gg-grandfather, Charles Ernest Binkley. Charles E. was born to Charles S. Binkley and Hanna Jones on Aug. 14, 1887 in Glen Wood, Iowa. He died on Nov. 3, 1947 in St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., Missouri. On his death certificate his occupation is listed as a tavern operator. His father was born in Omaha, Nebraska. Abt. 1918 Charles E. Married Bernice L. Hastings, probably in Blair, Nebraska. On March 20, 1919, in Blair, they had their only son, Arthur Burnette Binkley, and shortly there after were diviorced. Charles was not heard from again. Family history has it that Charles was Married once prior to marrying Bernice, and that he had lost his first wife and two young daughters in an accident not long before. He was married at least twice after his divorce from Bernice and at the time of his death was married to 34 year old Gladys (Binkley). He is buried in Richmond, Mo.
