Anna Barbara Binckele Frey was my sixth great grandmother, married Johann Valentin Frey, son Johann Michael married Maria Dorothea Schmidt, daughter Anna Maria Barbara married John Tuttle 1783.

This Bingelli/Binckele/Binkley family came from Guggisberg, Canton Bern, Switzerland also. An excerpt from the NC Binkley family history reads as follows: "... Peter Binckele was born in 1704 in Guggisberg, Canton Bern, Switzerland, son of Christian Binckele or Binggeli and Elisabeth Berg/Burri. His father died when he was about 9, and when he was 13 his mother moved into Alsace. He was living with his brother in the Steinthal district of Germany when he met and married Anna Maria Werle (1704-1748). They came to America in 1736 on the Princess Augustus. They lived at Warwick (Lititz) and then near York, PA, where Anna Maria died in 1748. Peter married Anna Margaretha Geiger, the widow Schemel/Schnell, (1722-1803) in 1749, moved with her to Monocacy Maryland in 1763, and finally settled near Bethania NC in 1772. He died there in 1793, survived by 12 of his total of 23 children from the two marriages."

All of my ancestors came down the "Great Wagon Road" to NC from PA or Monocacy, MD, beginning in the mid-1750's, all were here by 1780.

I'll assume we're distant relatives based upon the location of our Binkley ancestors.

Best Regards,

Michael Tuttle
