I'm the descendant of Samuel Binkley (b. 13 July 1805, Lancaster Co. PA, d. 10 Sept 1883, Tampa, Hillsborough Co. FL). His wife was Mary (Shissler) Binkley (b. 1804 Lancaster Co. PA, d. 1859 Arcadia, IN).
Their son, Samuel Binkley was born in OH, 1838 and died in IN in 1875. He married Hannah Slaveen from Indianapolis, IN and had two daughters, my great grandmother Katie Slaveen Binkley and Gertrude.
Samuel Binkley, JR. died at age 33 and his two daughters went to Fl and lived with their uncle and Grandfather, Samuel Sr. in Tampa. Katie married my great Grandfather, Francis M. Robles, in 1882. They had two sons, one my grandfather, Orryl Samuel Robles.
Now about the blind part. My grandfather had glaucoma as did Katie. My brother has it now and I was wondering about the line of genetic transmission. I believe Samuel Jr. was too young to have it, but I think Samuel Sr. may have been blind from it and that is why he went to live with his son in Tampa.
I saw some information about a blind Binkley from PA. I was wondering if anyone else had a blind Binkley in their familytree. Thanks for any responses. Michelle
