I am not certain you have the same Perry Bingaman in mind as I do. "My" Perry was a brother to my G-G-G-G grandparents, Frederick and Susannah (Huff) BINGAMAN. (My G-G-G grandparents were Frederick H. and Elizabeth BINGAMAN, buried the Troxelville cemetery.) Perry was born on Jan. 6, 1847 in Snyder Co [another paper dated Jan. 15, 1910, states that he had been born in Royalton, Union Co.] and died on March 7, 1916. I have posted a photo of his gravestone on findagrave.com http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=bingaman&GSfn=perry++&GSbyrel=in&GSdyrel=in&GSob=n&GRid=25794354& He died in Buffalo, Johnson Co, Wyoming. During the Civil War he was a member of Company E, 77th Pennsylvania Volunteers. To the best of my knowledge there are no family members also buried the same cemetery, Willow Grove Cemetery. I was able to get Perry's Civil War pension records through the help of U.S. Representative, Todd Platts. Neither the National Archives or Veterans Affairs claimed to have Perry's records. One paper, dated June 4, 1898, Perry states that he had been married, first, to Frana Hatten, and the divorce date was Dec. 18, 1892. [The divorce decree states that Frana had deserted Perry and a year had passed. The divorce occured in Wyoming.] Another paper, July 31, 1918, claims that Perry had been married to Frennie Hattan or Hatton (the handwriting is hard to read.) I have not found there marriage date or place. He then married Olive on Jan. 28, 1898, and they lived at Hyattville, Wyoming. {Perry could not write as he signed with an "x" in the pension papers.} Another paper, dated March 27, 1916, after Perry's death - Olive was seeking to draw from Perry's Civil War pension - states that Olive and her first husband, James Dillingham, were married on Oct. 30, 1881, and divorced on Nov. 8, 1897. -- Olive's maiden name was Jones and she was born in Ohio. After Perry died, Olive married a Purdy. I do not know a first name for her third husband. Olive had children with James: Agnes, and twins - Parathenia and ParaSadie. To Perry she also had children: Susan Victoria, Dorothy Marie, and Perry Orlando. After Perry's death, Olive moved to Lewiston, Wyoming, because she had a sister living there. Another paper though says Lewiston, Montana. The same paper dated Jan. 15, 1910, mentioned above, Perry states that he had lived in Snyer Co. for 10 years (I assume that this is after the Civil War), then he lived in Jackson, Ohio for 5 years. He then states that he moved to Buffalo, Wyoming in Oct. 1909. In 1906, Perry requests an increase in his pension, and at that time, he claims that his residence is in Newmansville, Clarion Co, PA. Why he left Wyoming, I do not know. However, his brother, Orlando, also a Civil War vet, lived in Newmansville, where he also died and is buried. Is this the same Perry Bingaman? Did he have a third wife, Sally Shriner, married on April 13, 1873, not revealed in his pension papers? Does her obit provide any further information? http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/pageload.cgi?dreese::bingaman::427.html Regards, Sid Dreese sdreese1@verizon.net Notify Administrator about this message?
