My g-g- grandmother was Mary E. Bingaman, b. 1846.
Her father was John Bingaman, b. ~1820, m. Hanna Mengel (b. ~1824). For years I thought my John was descended from the Friederich Bingaman-Maria Huffnagle line, but it just doesn't fit. Nor does he seem to fit with the Hessian soldier Bingaman line out of Northumberland County.
The Mengel family, I'm pretty certain, came from Berks County. John married Hanna 1-1-1843 in Snyder County, so the families were gone west by that time.
Anyone who could help me find a link with this Northumberland/Snyder/Union County Bingaman would earn a lot of gratitude.
