Lorenzo J. "Bill" Bilodeau, 86, of Locust St., died Friday, May 21, 2010, in his home. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bernadette J. (Boucher) Bilodeau of Oxford; three sons: Paul L. Bilodeau and his wife, Sharon, of Webster; Donald J. Bilodeau and his wife, Judith, of Oxford; and Ronald W. Bilodeau and his wife, Christine, of North Oxford; a brother, Rene Bilodeau of Ontario, Canada; two sisters: Rita Carrier and Marie Ange Brochur, both of Montreal, Canada; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by 13 brothers and sisters. He was born in St. Magloir, Quebec, Canada, and lived in Canada, Northbridge, and Millbury, before moving to Oxford 64 years ago. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marines in Canada.
Mr. Bilodeau operated Bilodeau Enterprises in Oxford for over 30 years, retiring at age 80. Previously, he was a member of the Bricklayers Local 6 Union for 22 years and had built every home that he lived in. He was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford and a 44-year member of the American Legion Post 58 in Oxford. He was a member of the Father Dennis J. Rocheford Knights of Columbus Council 4241 in Oxford and a 4th degree knight with the John Cardinal Wright Assembly.
Mr. Bilodeau's family would like to thank everyone at Summit Elder Care in Charlton for their kind help and support over the years.
A funeral will be held on Monday, May 24, 2010, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Sunday, May 23, 2010, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Roch's Church, 334 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540, or the VNA of Southern Worcester County, P.O. Box 368, Webster, MA 01570.
