I don't know if this will help but you might try looking into Elijah Bill Or Elisha Bill (I've seen it spelled both ways) m. Nancy Scott. He was born in Lebanon, New London Ct. in 1762. I've read a story about one his many, many children John who left the family at a very young age. Apparently, Elisha took to the west and decided to follow the Mormon movement. On his travels, it is told, he left a few of his children along the way. At one point he was in Missouri before going to Nauvou, Ill. to help build the Mormon community. I don't now when your grandmother was born but it seems the timeline could be correct. Like I said, he had at least 14 children and a couple of wives.
