Robinson/Wright/BILLS, Pithole, PA
Enoch ROBINSON, b. between 1826 and 1840’s, died July 16, 1897.
Fur-trader/mule-skinner in Pit Hole, PA., during the days of the discover of
oil in the Oil Creek/ Oil City/ Titusville, PA. area. ("Along Oil Creek, just
south of Titusville, Colonel Edwin Drake struck oil at a depth of 69.5 feet
in August 1859. Drake’s Well marks the birth of the world’s oil industry. The
history of Venango County is inextricably connected with oil, for it was here
that the oil industry began. The oil industry traces its roots to Titusville,
just across the border in Crawford County, for it is there that Col. Edwin L.
Drake drilled the first oil well.")
Enoch ROBINSON married Anna WENER/WERNER, (German decent?) b. between
