Hi everyone,
I'm trying to verify information about my GGrandfather Sam Billiter. Numerous non-family members have related a story about how Sam died. He was visting a lady friend for the night in Virginia when her husband and brothers discovered him. He supposedly killed a number of the men and was killed himself. Any family members who might have known about this would not talk about Sam, but only about what a wonderful man my grandfather was. I have been unable to find any official records about this event. It would have taken place sometime between 1895-1900. Any help would be appreciated.
Following is the information I do have on Sam:
Born: between 1871-1872 in Pike Co.
Parents: James D. Billiter & Francis E. Robinson both of Pike Co.
Married: Sarah Belle Justice on 1/2/1891
Children: Dolly (died as a child)
