Jo Beth: I believe the bondsman in your posting, John R. Hauser, is my first cousin, four times removed -- b. 13 Nov 1823 in Stokes [Forsyth] Co., NC, d. bef. 1910 in Forsyth Co., NC. The way he gets into the act is that he is the grandson of Leah (Billiter) Hauser, who is both my 4g-grandmother and Matthew Billiter's aunt. She was the wife of Martin Hauser III and lived near present-day Lewisville, Forsyth Co., NC.
