James Billingsley - Logan Co., Ky - 1800

I have a big problem. Am seeking information on a James Billingsley. He resided in the following known places:
1787 thur 1794 in Guilford Co., NC
in 1794 I find a James Billingsley in Davidson Co., Tenn.
1795 - tax rolls - logan co., ky
An 1817 land deed for sale of land mentions heirs of James Billingsley, decd. This is in Logan Co., Ky. Mentioned are:
Henry, John, Elizabeth who married Andrew Carnahan, james billingsley, Jane Billingsley who married John Carnahan, Mary
Billingsley who married Joseph Shannon, Margaret Billingsley who married Samuel Shannon and Samuel billingsley who married Rachel Shannon.
Problem is -- the information I have does not fit the info. in the Billingsley in America book that everyone refers to.
