Captain Jesse Billingsley was my great-
grandmother's uncle, which makes him my 3rd or maybe 4th great-uncle.

Jesse was born October 10, 1810 in Rutherford County, Tennessee. He was married January 15, 1847 to (Mrs.) Eliza Winans at Bastrop County, Texas. They had 3 children: Jeptha Preston Billingsley, Francis Marion Billingsley and Miriam Ellen Billingsley. Jesse died on October 1, 1880 in Bastrop County, Texas. He is buried on the grounds of the Texas State Capital in Austin.

I have no information re: Eliza Winans.
