My earliest known Billingsley ancestor was born in South Carolina abt. 1841 and married a Walker who was born in Tennessee. They had one daughter and two sons: Margrett Elizabeth Walker b. May 1857 in Mississippi, Joseph Thomas Walker b. abt. 1859, and John Levi Walker b. abt. 1863. I do not know the given name for my Walker ancestor. He died between 1863 and 1869, I believe. After his death, Martha Lou married A.R. Privitt in 1869 in Lee County, MS. They had one son William Privitt b. abt. 1870 and two twin daughters, Laura and Ida who were born abt. 1875. Martha Lou was probably widowed by 1880. This family was known to be in Lee County, MS and Union County, MS around 1870 and in 1880.
If anyone knows anything about my family, please share information with me. I have searched diligently without finding out the truth. There seem to have been quite a few Walkers and Billingsleys in the Northeast MS area. Surely someone has some Billingsley and Walker ancestors who were related to mine. Do any of the names I gave ring a bell? Please help me if you can! Thank you in advance!
