William Thomas Billingsley was my grandfather. He died 7/31/1947 in Fairbury, IL. The following is from his obituary -- "Mr. Billingsley was born September 4, 1868, near Glasgow, Ky., the son of Lafayette and Mary Jane Billingsley. On December 31, 1893, he was united in marriage at Glasgow with Rhoda Chapman..." I am looking for any information about Lafayette Billingsley. It appears that his actual name was Joseph Lafayette. His wife was Mary Jane Wilbourne. I have her obituary. I am especially interested in any information concerning the death of Joseph Lafayette. The family story is that he was murdered.
