Yes, Iam an associate member of the James Billingsley Chapter in Texas. Up until 1996 a woman could join under his name by tradition. but they stopped that because they changed the rules that they needed proof he was a patriot in the war. that meant he had to have some written documentation that he helped in some way, jury duty, held office, or gave aid to Washington's troops. Anything that shows he was active during that time period.
