Billingsleys-Civil War POWs

I just came across a book in the library that caught my eye "CSA POWs Who Died in the North". Three "Billingslys" were listed. I was able to place the name of ALFRED A. BILLINGSLY. He was a Pvt in I Co of the 43rd AL Inf. He died Dec 22 1864 in Chicago and is buried in Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago, Cook, IL. The next name was W. BILLINGSLY, Pvt in G Co. 25th AL Inf. He died in Alton IL on 5 Aug 1862 and is buried in Alton's Confederate Cemetery. Just which "W." this is, I don't know. The third name blew me away. MRS CAROLINE BILLINGSLY, CITIZEN died on 19 Oct 1864 while confined at St. Louis Jefferson Barracks in MO and was buried there. Her burial marker is #8199 NC. Her's must be any interesting story. Why was she a POW?

Are there any Civil War buffs out there who can help me identify "W." and "Mrs Caroline"?

Please e-mail me at rcol2000@aol.com Roz
