Hi Rebecca -- I copied this from one of the D.A.R. books a couple of years ago, at the N.Y. Public Library. (Unfortunately, I didn't write down the volume number, and I don't get to N.Y. very often.) Anyway -- Daniel Biles (1755-1835) served as a private in the Rowan County, NC, militia. Born in PA, died in Rowan County. His father-in-law, John or Jonathan Conger, "a patriot, furnished supplies." (I think that means that he didn't join up with a regiment, but the D.A.R. recognizes him because he supplied the troops.) He was born in PA, died 1784 in Rowan County, married Phoebe ____, who died 1781. Jean Conger, who married Daniel Biles in 1775, died in 1829. Hope this helps!
