They could have been in Louisiana in 1801. I have a birth date of Feb. 9, 1787 for their son Benjamin. John was born in 1772, married in 1795 to a Stokes, their son Lewis born Oct. 14, 1796. Do any of these dates match? My records show that John moved to Painted Post, NY, and that his son Lewis was a gunsmith there and married Elizabeth Schockey in 1819. Lewis died Sept. 29, 1875.
