Some of my Bigsbys travelled to America, and one was quite a famous geologist in Canada in early to mid last century. But I think the family links you are talking about are not the same as mine...I have three William Bigsbys in my family but I doubt any are related. One was William Edward Deacon Bigsby (1842-1913) and another was William Richardson Bigsby (later Bigsby-Chamberlin), born in 1839 and died in 1925. Both travelled extensively but as far as I can tell never settled in the US and neither had children...
