Dear Brenda I know this is a long shot since you posted in 2002.But hope you get this message.I have been reseaching the Bigners. My grandmother Mary Augustine Bigner Simpson was from the Hammond, La. area.I think her father was James "JIM" Bigner and her Mother was Emile Strahan.Grandmothers siblings were Herman, Jimmy, Norman, Barbara Louise, and may have been a couple more.
Mom was only child. She remembers very little these days. Her name is Patricia Jean Simpson, Stovall. ALso She says she has a cousin named Anne Who married an Ownes in Albany, la. Thinks she was a hairdresser. Does any of this ring a bell to you.. I am sure you and I are on same lineage.Do you know a Katherine Bigner, which is from another country. I think she is the wife of Jim or Herman Bigner. Not sure which. BUT I can remember when I was a little girl going to their house. They lived in the Ponchatoula area I think.ANYWAYS I have dates of Norman b on April 10, 1913 abd dued Biv, 1967. Also there was a news paper clipping not too long ago that someone gave me, from the Denham springs news. LA.of A Rollie Bigner.who was running for District 9 seat on parish council of LIvingston, La. Also I have a clipping of OBIT of a John Hugh Jay Bigner who died on July 1 1995 at North Oaks Medical center in New Orleans. He was proceeded in Death by parents Vercy Ray and Lottie Bigner. same day the death of aEmily Jeanee Bigner Think John was her husband, not for sure. She was proceeeded in death by John Bigner and a brother Cecil Beard and a sister Joyce Beard. Does any of this ring a bell. ANd have you heard of an Leona Maria Bigner of springfield, la married AApril 1933 to a Samuel Carpenter Her father was Hebert Bigner also grandmother died May1, 1983 IN denham springs.
