Catherine Bigler, wife of Henry Miller, must have born a son whom they named Joseph, who is clearly named as an executor in Henry's will, filed for probate on 24th May 1793. Based on information on this Bigler family which I have gleaned from various lists and boards, Joseph was probably born about 1765.
Does anyone have even the faintest clue as to what happened to this Joseph Miller?? When he died, who he married, the name of even one child, where he lived, etc. I am trying to make a connection between my Miller ancestors and somebody, anybody, who left an imprint on the records of Colonial Maryland. Right now, this Bigler family seems to be the best bet. None of the important Miller families have worked out.
I note that one of the witnesses to Henry's will was a William Ferguson. William, dec. 1809, named, as his executors, Joseph Miller and Samuel Slifer. The last is an unusual name and it places the whole lot of them near Middletown, Frederick Co., Maryland. In 1819, my Miller g-g-g-father married Eve Slifer, Samuel's niece, in the German Reformed Church at Middletown. IF Samuel's coexecutor was indeed Joseph son of Catherine Bigler, THEN the connection is made, albeit tenuously.
