I am researching William Biggs, b. 1846, the son of Hardy(b. 1815). According to the death certificate of Arlen "Lena" Elizabeth Biggs Davis(Aug. 30, 1869-Feb. 17, 1955, Springfield, MO) her parents were William Biggs and Mary K. Johnston.(It may have been Johnson.)She had a sister, Willie Minnie Biggs(d. 1893, Birchtree, Shannon Co., MO.)
Lena married E.W. Davis Aug. 26, 1883 in Howell Co., MO at the home of her guardian, M.M. Pease(wife: Winifred Johnson).
Willie Minnie married James M. Tosh at Sterling Switch, Howell Co., MO Feb. 23, 1884, at the home of Elizabeth Johnson, her guardian. According to family tradition, Willie worked at a boarding house/restaurant where she met James Tosh.
Family tradition also says that Lena and Willie were orphaned by the time they married.
