Debbie: I wonder if we can be of some help to one another. I have been reading with interests your posts in genealogical forum on the web. My ancestor, Dr. Reuben Biggs was born in 3 April,1803, lived in Lawrence Co., Kentucky, married 1st-Catherine Grubb and had several children--divorced about 1860, took up with Sarah J. Hall, who was evidently after his money (fairly wealthy for the time period) and had another family with her. He probably established this guardianship for her with Susannah at time of divorce. I have been told that Susannah was probably the aunt or older sister of Reuben. I also believe that Douglass Biggs was probably his uncle. Douglass had sons Hiram and Jeremiah. I believe they all may be descended from Josiah, Jeremiah, Ephraim, William or possibly others who by a circuitous route left Cumberland County, New Jersey and eventually made it into Ohio, Virginia and Kentucky. I am descended from his son with Catherine Grubb--James Harvey Biggs *(Harve)who married Martha Jane Belcher--had a son, my great-grandfather, Reuben, b. 1860 and lived in Carter County, until early 1890s, went to Mountain View, Arkansas, and Independence, Missouri, for about 10 years, then back to Kentucky. He followed the coal mines into Indiana with his children, one of whom was my granfather, George Biggs, who married Myra Mabel Henson in Pike County, Indiana and lived in Knox County, Indiana. Their son was my father, Norman (Jumbo) Biggs b. 8 July 1919, and married my mother Betty Ann Barnett. Maybe we can help each other.
