Josiah Biggs, who's your daddy?!

Hi,
I am looking for the connection between my g-g-g-grandfather, Josiah Biggs(1821-1868), and the other Biggs' of the Robertson, Sumner and Lincoln Counties of Tennessee.

In the 1830 Lincoln County, Tn. census there is a John Sr. who is 80-90 years old living with a female also 80-90 and a boy (5-10) and a woman (30-40). Would you think the boy is a grandson or even a grandson's son? I suspect that boy was Josiah and the woman is his mother Annis. Age-wise it fits. But who's the father??

Also, they are living near 2 other Biggs households. Adam is 30-40 years old and John is 20-30 years old. There are 2 boys in Adam's household that are also 5-10 years old. There is also a David. In the 1830 census he is 52 pages away and he has no 5-10 year old children.

In the 1850 Lincoln County census, Josiah is 29 years old, which makes him a candidate for any of those 3 openings in the (5-10) age slot of 1830.

Side Note: In case a connection can be made with it, in 1850 he is living with 55 year old Annis Biggs(1795-1872), probably his mother and Mary Anderson(b. abt 1790) and Jane Anderson(b. abt 1815), possibly an aunt and cousin.

We know Joseph and Elijah are brothers from Joseph's will, but how about the others? Also, I have a question regarding Joseph's will. He refers to 'William Biggs the "reputed" son of my deceased brother Elijah Biggs...' Do you know what he's meaning by "reputed"?

Anyway, as possible fathers for Josiah, we have John Sr.(b.1745), Joseph(b.1776), David(b. 1777), Elijah(b.1780), Adam(b.1795), John(b.1803) or even James(b. 1803). Let me know if someone should be included or excluded from this list.

Also, they claim to come from North Carolina. Can anybody locate any of them prior to coming to middle Tennessee?

Thanks,

Greg Biggs
