My great-grandfather, Charles Bigelow still remains elusive to me. I'm hoping I might be able to tie him to other Bigelows that were in the area of Eau Claire, Wisconsin about the same time mine were. Does anyone know these people?
The 1884 Eau Claire Directory has a Eugene Bigelow listed as a bartender.
There was a Melvin Bigelow born there 15 April 1892, My grandmother's birth (Gussie Mae Bigelow) is given as 4 November 1885, which is correct. There is also an unknown Bigelow birth listed as 1 July 1899.
The 1870 Census lists my great-grandfather, Charles Bigelow as head of household, age 20, born in Canada.
There is also an Edwin Bigelow on the same census, age 22, born in New York (maybe a brother?).
Just taking a shot in the dark. I thought someone may have researched these people. Thanx
