I do not know if I am researching the same William Bigalow/Bigelow as you are, but I am interested in a man by that name who appears on the 1850 Federal census for Somers Twp, Preble Co., OH. At the time of the census, his age is 43, making his birth year about 1807. His birth place is given as NJ. His wife's name is Mary, age 40, also born in NJ. The children in the household at the time, all born in OH, are: Lewis, Asher, Josiah, Nelson, & Clinton. Their ages range from 20 down to 6 yrs. There is also a 71-year-old woman living with them named Catherine Parker. Are we talking about the same William Bigalow?
