My mother's family is Bies. They settled in Chicago. There is supposed to be a street in Chicago named after them. The original ancestors for us were Anna & Jacob Bies. They had 13 children and the name John is a traditional first name. My cousin is currently in Chicago, but I do not know what her married name is. They came from the Rhine area of Germany/France. There is also twins in every other generation. The majority of my grandfather; Gariety Bies (married to Leona Butcher) are in southern Indiana. My greatgrandmother outlived all of her 13 children, but 3. The only one living currently that I am aware of is Great uncle Leonard.
